I actually thought it looked cooler than WOTLK - maybe instead of focusing on creating/balancing a new class they'll focus on content.

We don't really need another class.

And there will be a lot of "new" zones.  I like the fact that there will be a bunch of places (Hyjal, Gilneas, etc) that were blocked off when you were leveling and now will be open.  Plus, it's also kind of cool that zones you know will have been affected and changed (ORG destroyed??).  I think it sounds better than going to some "new" continent that wasn't there before that no one really cares about.

I'm with Bryn on one condition:
They actually do more than half ass the old world content. I want significant work to be put into any revamp dungeons. I will be pissed off if I go to WC and it's just "lol WC with level 80 mobs".
Otherwise yeah, pretty sweet to get to fly around Azeroth and explore all the mysterious unreachable/hard to reach areas that were barred/locked up.

Wait until we see hyjal and they just copy/pasted it from T6 content, that will be perfect.

Reworking old content was *so* successful guys, Naxx was the most popular dungeon they ever made!  I think 90% of WoW has been in Naxx!

*eyeroll*

Well, I'd say that they did a bad job with Naxx in two ways:
1.  It's EXACTLY the same as old Naxx.   Had they modified it for WOTLK to reflect Arthas more, it would have been a lot better.
2.  It's too easy.  Even for casual raiders, it's too easy.

I think that this was a result of the focus being on creating an entirely new continent, creating the new DK area in EPL (an existing content area) and the balancing of an entire new class.  The EPL modification adds probably the best starting area in the game, and was one of the highlights for me in WOTLK.

Now, with this expac, I think (hope?) you'll see a lot more attention to the details and concentration on creating exciting and fun content within existing boundaries.

I do agree though with Krunkle, that if it turns out to be WC with L82 mobs, it will be horrible.  But if they make it into a world changing, phase based difference, it will be really cool.  Like, you can still level through the areas, but then when you hit 80, they start changing with the storyline.  I think there's a lot of potential here.

Naxx was mega popular before they just updated it for 25 man.

Flying in Azeroth will be the shit... although now that I think about it I only go there now to see the AH... maybe the unfinished zones will turn out nice and if they do the phasing right maybe Azeroth will be the place to be again.

If they don't add a new class though that will disappoint me.  This game can't last forever and there are so many new hero class they could add into the game.

I didn't see the DK starting area, though I heard it was a very very cool thing. I think I was most impressed by the whole Wrathgate questline in Dragonblight, that was my first taste of full on phasing in an area, and I was pretty much in awe of it. If they translate that phasing thing into a full scale expansion, I will be pumped. An area is an area, you can give me a bunch of new zones and I'll just run through them to level. However, there are areas that I spent time in at low levels, running around with my friends just goofing off in WoW, and as cheesy at it is, I have memories of running around like that, still wet behind the ears. It will be a cool feeling to return to these areas I frequented as level 20 or so as a geared to the teeth level 80 with all this raiding experience under my belt.

I'm still all that stuff is only rumors, waiting for blizzcon (if they reveal it, which I'm sure they will) to see if all this is true.

But atm, it's only speculation to me.

Just as fair warning, Aion is *not* WoW; you gain probably 50% of your exp from grinding beyond your teens, and the fastest way to level is just to grind elite mobs in a group of 3-4 people.  Quests are there to advance the story, and serve that purpose very well; they're not there as a "go get this, go get that, here's a level" way that WoW has made them.

It started as an Asian MMO, and as much as I hate stereotypes, you can tell :P  Some people dig that (I'm going to pick it up to play during nonraid days, for example), but it's not trying to be a "WoW-killer" thankfully.

Your right, its not wow in anyway whatsoever. It has similarities but from what i've seen on beta screens and such its gameplay is just superior in every way. I'm kind of looking forward to a change from this type of gameplay.
